Collaborating, working and growing together since 2013 the Branch Out Team has built a reputation based on providing exceptional quality of service and support through creative, community minded programming for families in the East Kootenays. There is a talented group of special people who are dedicated and passionate about the success of each child and family.

Simone Bourassa

Behaviour Consultant, Clinical Adviser, Owner

Over 15 years experience working with individuals with challenging behaviour, Autism Spectrum disorder or developmental disabilities. Collaborating with families, communities and professional team members Simone has an undeniable passion for supporting people. Simone's education in psychology/neuro-science (B.A. Psych) and Applied Behaviour Analysis (M.A.) provides the foundation of the Branch-Out program.

Tabitha Simson

Senior Behaviour Intervention Supervisor, Owner

Tabitha is constantly working to better support for families and children while leading staff by exemplary example.

Douglas College graduate with Behaviour Intervention Diploma and continuing education in parent coaching and undergraduate degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis.

With 10 years experience as a behaviour interventionist and senior supervisor Tabitha is the structure of support for Branch-Out children, families and staff.

Brenna Traverse

Senior Behaviour Interventionist-Elk Valley

Brenna brings an amazing energy and valuable, diverse variety of experience to the Branch-Out team.

ECE assistant, former pre-school teacher, Douglas College Behaviour Intervention Certificate graduate. Brenna's passion is in working with children, families, and communities.

Elk Valley Senior Behaviour Interventionist Brenna is a shining leader for staff and invaluable support for families.

Cari Munro

Behaviour Interventionist

Cari lives for creating creative ways to work toward goals for children. 

With an undergraduate degree in Science majoring in kinesiology, Cari is passionate about building learning into movement and other creative avenues. With 7 years experience working with children and youth, Cari's enthusiasm and creativity weaves itself into learning goals, one-one or group sessions. She brings a unique and valuable skill to the Branch out team.

 We are so happy to have Cari on our team! She is constantly feeding the Branch Out team with creativity, enthusiasm, dedication and ingenuity!

Emma Coulsen

Behaviour Interventionist

Emma's friendly nature and enthusiastic personality is infectious for anyone working with or near her!

Emma has an undergraduate degree in Psychology and recently completed a masters degree in War and Psychiatry in the UK. Prior to landing in the Elk Valley, Emma has worked in aged care and as an academic tutor in Australia, Switzerland and in the UK.

Recently moving to Fernie,  Emma is excited to bring her passion and enthusiasm for working with children to Branch Out and Elk Valley.

Shelley Bennett

Behaviour Interventionist

Shelley is a ray of sunshine within the Branch Out team!

With a degree in psychology and a grad diploma in health sciences. Shelley is passionate about helping others and making a positive impact on those that she works with. With infectious positivity Shelley is inspired and  enthusiastic about education and working with young people to help and guide them achieve their up most potential. 

Shelley brings a fun, kind hearted nature to Branch Out, along with a passion to creatively work toward individuals goals. Her love for the outdoors and nature is also something she incorporates into her role at Branch Out, to help individuals learn and grow outside.
